Since 2024, the initiative has welcomed Challengers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and many other countries. In 2027, the MIPIM Challengers Alumni network will grow to more than 100 members, creating an even stronger international community of emerging industry leaders.

After an inspiring essay competition addressing global urban development challenges, with over 150 entries from 20 countries submitted, we proudly welcomed our 15 Challengers!
Following a thought-provoking essay competition on overlooked disruptive ideas to improve urbanisation, which attracted entries from across the globe, the second cohort took centre stage at MIPIM in March 2025.
After introducing a new application format for MIPIM 2026, allowing companies to nominate their most promising talents, we were thrilled to welcome the third cohort of MIPIM Challengers.
All applications and nominations are carefully reviewed by the MIPIM team. Selection is based on the strength of each application, while ensuring gender balance and a diverse representation of the professions and sectors shaping the built environment.
Selected Challengers will receive a Full Pass to MIPIM 2027, giving them access to all event days, the exhibition halls, the full conference programme, Thematic Summits and the MIPIM Meeting Platform.

Your sponsor will be contacted by the MIPIM team to confirm its support for your application, so please make sure they are aware of your nomination before you apply. Your sponsor does not need to attend MIPIM or purchase a pass to support your application.
