Alexandra Hagen is an architect and CEO of employee-owned White Arkitekter, which with its 900 employees is one of the world's largest architect firms. Alexandra took office as CEO in January 2018.
As an architect and leader, Alexandra is driven by the belief that architecture is the art form that affects most people in everyday life. Alexandra sees architecture as an important tool for achieving good living conditions for all people, sustainable social development and long-term economic values. Issues such as digitalisation, urban development, education and R&D in the area of sustainable architecture are of particular interest to her.
After her architectural degree at Chalmers University of Technology, Alexandra began her career in 2000 at White, where she has remained since. As an architect, Alexandra has worked on projects in areas such as housing, education, offices, healthcare, urban development and landscape. For several years she was engaged in the development of White's internal R&D network and has also been in charge of international competitions and held the position as Head of international for four years where she was in charge of establishing White in the UK. Prior to Alexandra's appointment as CEO, she was the managing director of White’s Malmö office where she grew the staff from 55 to 90. Alongside acting as White Arkitekter's CEO, Alexandra serves on the board of the Swedish Green Building Council.
